iPhone to Windows
Method 1: Via cable (easiest)1. Connect your iPhone with a Lightning/USB-C cable
2. Unlock iPhone and accept "Trust This Computer"
3. iPhone appears in Windows Explorer as a camera
4. Open it, go to "Internal Storage > DCIM"
5. Copy your photos to your chosen folder
Method 2: Via iCloud1. On iPhone: Settings > Photos > Enable iCloud Photos
2. On PC: Download iCloud for Windows from Apple's site
3. Sign in with your Apple ID
4. Photos appear in Windows Explorer
Android to Windows
Via cable:1. Connect Android via USB
2. On phone, swipe notification bar and select "File Transfer" or "MTP"
3. Device appears in Windows Explorer
4. Navigate to "DCIM > Camera" and copy photos
iPhone to Mac
Via Finder (macOS Catalina+):1. Connect iPhone via cable
2. iPhone appears in Finder sidebar
3. Click your iPhone > "Photos" tab
4. Click "Import All New Photos"
Android to Mac
1. Download Android File Transfer from Google's site
2. Install on your Mac
3. Connect Android via USB cable
4. On phone, select "File Transfer"
5. Android File Transfer opens automatically
Tips for Organizing Photos
- Create folders by year then by month or event
- Use descriptive names (e.g., "2024-06 Vacation Provence")
- Double backup: computer + external drive or cloud
- Delete blurry or duplicate photos before transferring
